On behalf of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services, the Registries Division has responsibility for the effective administration of the business, vital statistics and land registries, and the Provincial Tax Commission in furtherance of the department’s mandate. About Our Opportunity Reporting to the Director/Deputy Registrar General of Vital Statistics, the Manager/Assistant Deputy Registrar General has overall management responsibility for the daily operation of the Vital Statistics program and is accountable to the Deputy Registrar General for the administration of the three statutes: The Vital Statistics Act, the Marriage Act and the Change of Name Act with respect to the registration of all new life events within the province of Nova Scotia, effectively interpreting and applying the legislation, in a sensitive, potentially precedent-setting environment. In this leadership role you will develop innovative solutions to resolve customer service issues and problems within the provisions of the applicable statutes and regulations while considering privacy and security requirements. You will oversee a diverse group of staff, promoting a culture of teamwork and cooperation, ensuring that the provisions of the collective agreement are appropriately considered;.
