Ocean Lakes Family Campground aquatics area technician II REPORTS TO: Aquatics Manager PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provide Ocean Lakes' Guests with a safe swimming environment at all aquatic facilities. CLASSIFICATION: Hourly - Non-Exempt - Paygrade 8 DEPARTMENT: Aquatics 133 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Daily maintenance of swimming pools, pool areas, decks, pool filtration, sanitation, and Sandy Harbor facilities. Perform basic repairs on all facilities and equipment to include carpentry, plumbing, electrical, tile and concrete. Maintain proper water chemistry in all aquatic facilities and maintain accurate records to meet DHEC standards. Assist with proper handling and safe storage of all pool chemicals. Follow company policies in using appropriate PPE. Assist Aquatics Technician in all pool maintenance duties and all facets of operation. Perform daily safety inspections of facilities. Report all issues and needed repairs promptly to Foreman and Aquatics Manager. Maintain all equipment and tools in clean, excellent operational condition. Assist Aquatics Maintenance Foreman with ordering and inventory of pool chemicals, operating equipment, and supplies. Follow all procedures for NPCS confined space duties. Assist/perform off season maintenance in all facilities. Assist in all aspects of Recreation Department, as needed. Provide outstanding guest service at every opportunity. Promote a positive relationship with team members in all departments and divisions. Understanding of internal controls. Maintain confidentiality of information. Positive attitude. Ability to interact well with others in a team environment. Additional duties as assigned. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS: Actively demonstrate, encourage, train and model safety rules and guidelines, in accordance with Company, along with local, state and federal law requirements. Investigate loss producing incidents and review prevention recommendations with all employees. Actively participate in safety meetings, if requested by Management, providing and documenting safety training, if applicable, and offering improvement suggestions. Ensure that all safety equipment is always used, i.e., safety harness, eye protection, hard hats, gloves, etc. Report safety or hazard concerns to management. Report any work-related injury to management. Take personal responsibility for safety every day. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Experience in Swimming Pool Maintenance is required. Commercial Pool Operator certification. Electrical/plumbing experience helpful. High School diploma or GED. Duties require active movement, walking, standing, and running, sitting, speaking, and listening. Must have the ability to operate basic maintenance tools and painting equipment. Must have the ability to operate swimming pool automatic controllers, pump filtration systems, water treatment and testing equipment. Must have reliable transportation. Must have the ability to work on site for all scheduled hours. Duties require active movement, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and the ability to lift 75lbs, along with climbing up to 15 feet. Physically able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time. Must be capable of working with hazardous chemicals. Must be able to perform outdoor physical labor in varying weather conditions. SCHEDULE: Ocean Lakes Family Campground operates 7 days each week. Employees must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or holidays as well as overtime hours as necessary. Available to take calls on a 24-hour rotation basis.
