WE ARE HIRING JOIN OUR TEAM Are you an experienced Firefighter EMT looking to serve a community? Then come apply with the City of Georgetown! The City of Georgetown Fire Department is now accepting applications for Firefighter EMT's. Position Overview: Responds to fire alarms and other emergency calls as required. Performs the necessary functions and operations to efficiently and effectively protect the lives and property of those in need of assistance. Provides public education on fire safety. Works according to set procedures under close supervision. Reports to the Fire Lieutenants. Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of heavy machines and equipment. Must be able to exert up to five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Must be able to push, stoop, lift, pull, reach, kneel, climb, crouch, carry, or otherwise move objects. Work involves walking or standing for periods of time. Must be able to lift/carry weights of up to 80 pounds. Qualifications and Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the firefighting field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid NREMT or SC EMT Certification. Valid Firefighter I and Firefighter II certifications. Valid South Carolina Driver's License. Hazmat Technican, ICS 100/ 200/ 700/ 800.
