Job Title: AM HOUSEPERSON Department: Housekeeping Reports To: Executive Housekeeper Rate of Pay: From $16.00/Hour Shift: Variable Shifts Monday - Sunday FTYR Benefited Positions - 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (4 shifts/week) PT Year Round and Seasonal positions also available FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly SUMMARY Maintains resort premises in clean and orderly manner according to hotel standards. Attends to guests' requests in a timely manner, transporting housekeeping materials for delivery or removal using a Sundance vehicle. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for checking in and out keys and radios from the safety office. Check in and out Sundance vehicle to carry out daily duties ensuring cleanliness and follow Sundance safety vehicle guidelines. Check in daily by 8:00 AM with Housekeeping Management to receive assignments such as stocking wood and cleaning fireplaces daily by 3:00 PM (during the winter months). Deliver amenities to all checkouts and ensure turnovers are done by 3:00 PM. Keep housekeeping storage closets stocked with linen and paper products. Maintain all rodent traps in all housekeeping areas. Fulfill guest requests within fifteen minutes. Ensure trash and recycle bins are emptied daily and sorted and disposed of properly. Comply with no-idling policy. Support the recycling program and educating guests as needed. Shares the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises. Keep radio on to effectively communicate with supervisors and room attendants at all times. Change light bulbs as needed. Take dirty linen and trash from the housekeeping closets to the appropriate containers. Lock linen closets at the end of the day. Follow Sundance Housekeeping protocols for cleanliness and safety. Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment as the occasion arises. ALL SUNDANCE REPRESENTATIVES ARE EXPECTED TO: Embrace and promote all facets of the Sundance Guiding Principles: vision, mission, service standards, and values. Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Sundance departments, amenities and programming ventures. Be flexible to meet business demands, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage time appropriately. Work with a broad based constituency and provide excellent service to all internal and external guests. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement. Support and comply with all Sundance policies, procedures, and standards. Protect Sundance assets. Be a positive ambassador of Sundance inside and outside of work ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example: minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wildlife habitats, and carpool with co-workers to minimize carbon emissions. All employees are invited to participate in environmental or Sundance Preserve sponsored events. DRESS CODE Sundance recognizes the impact that our image has on the guest's impression of the resort and the perception of our ability to provide professional service to our clientele. As representatives of Sundance all employees including managers are expected to be in compliance with the Dress Code determined for his/her department as defined in the job description or follow the standards below. In order to best promote a positive, professional image that meets Sundance guest's expectations, employees are required to dress in a professional, conservative fashion that is appropriate for their area. Please use the following as a minimum standard: What is allowed All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance. Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty. Must wear designated uniforms at all times. Dress weather appropriate for conditions . Blue jeans are permitted. Shorts may not be shorter than 2" above knee. Clothing must be clean and in good condition. Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females. Tennis shoes are permitted but must be in good repair and not too flashy. Fashion sneakers are allowed within department approved parameters. Hat or Bennie is allowed according to the season and Sundance logo only. A tailored fit is required of all clothing. Close toed, non-slip footwear for your department is required. What is not allowed Clothing must be unwrinkled No rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed. Skirts not allowed. Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited. Fitness/ workout shorts Bare midriffs are prohibited. Flip flops are prohibited in all areas. The Housekeeping Uniform consists of the following: Sundance issued shirt, sweatshirt, or coat. Accommodations Sundance will reasonably accommodate employees with religious beliefs or a disability that may make it difficult for that employee to comply fully with the Personal Appearance Policy. Employees should contact their supervisor or Human Resources to request a reasonable accommodation that will comply to the greatest extent possible with the policy. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of carpet shampoo and window washing a plus. TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS Operate 2-way radios for communication to other staff. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid U.S. drivers' license in good standing as determined by Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines. LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to read a limited number of two‑ and three‑syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
