Title: Payroll Manager - Construction Industry Summary: We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager with a background in the construction industry to oversee payroll operations for our company. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills to manage a team of six payroll professionals and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for up to 300 employees. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll processes, compliance with industry regulations, and proficiency in payroll software. Responsibilities: Supervise a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for up to 300 employees, including wage calculations, deductions, and benefits administration. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as industry-specific requirements for the construction sector. Coordinate with HR and finance departments to gather and verify employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation. Review and approve payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness before finalizing payments. Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll regulations and best practices within the construction industry, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, providing insights and analysis as needed. Address employee inquiries and concerns regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner. Collaborate with external auditors during payroll audits, providing documentation and support as required. Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and ensure data security measures are followed at all times. Handle special projects and other duties as assigned by senior management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, with specific experience in the construction industry highly desirable. Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements. Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, SAP) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to meeting deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
