Practice Area: Employment Law - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, A law firm is seeking a Talent Counsel to join their team in New York City, NY. The Talent Counsel will provide comprehensive legal guidance to the firm on employment-related matters, ensuring compliance with US federal, state, and local laws. They will serve as a key resource for international employment issues, assist in policy development, and support the firm's benefits team. Duties:Advise the firm on employment-related matters under US federal, state, and local laws.Act as a point of contact for international employment issues.Stay informed about emerging legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment obligations.Assist in creating policies, procedures, and training programs to enforce compliance.Review and update internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.Deliver training sessions on various employment law topics to team members.Aid in drafting and negotiating employment-related documents, including offer letters and separation agreements.Provide support to the benefits team on matters such as compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, and immigration.Assist in pre-litigation employment matters as required by the Office of General Counsel.Perform other duties as assigned or requested by firm leadership. Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.3-5 years of experience providing legal advice, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment.Strong preference for experience practicing employment law within California and/or New York.Solid understanding of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour laws, etc.Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide sound legal advice.Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications:Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction preferred. Skills:Proficiency in US employment law.Strong analytical and negotiation skills.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and provide sound legal advice. Experience:3-5 years of experience providing legal advice, preferably in a corporate or professional services environment.
