The successful candidate will handle a variety of bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency-related matters, with opportunities for remote work and business development.Duties:Take depositions and argue motions and contested matters in state and federal courtsReceive training opportunities with increasing levels of responsibilityCollaborate across practice groups and officesEngage in business development activities with potential for partnershipWork remotely two days per weekRequirements:3-6 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, and/or creditors’ rights litigationStrong knowledge of Bankruptcy Code, local rules, UCC, and secured transactionsSignificant experience in motions practice, contested matters, and/or adversary proceedingsAbility to think quickly and perform under pressureProficiency in deposition preparation and executionExcellent research and writing skillsTeam player with an interest in relationship-buildingCultural competence to work with diverse attorneys, staff, and clientsHighly motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced environmentOutstanding written and oral communication skillsExceptional law school credentials and referencesEducation Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmitted to practice law in Washington, DCSkills:Litigation skills: depositions, motions practice, contested mattersBankruptcy law expertise: Bankruptcy Code, UCC, secured transactionsResearch and writing proficiencyCommunication and relationship-buildingCultural competence and adaptabilityBenefits Offered:Competitive salariesQuality benefits programsWorkplace flexibilityOne-on-One Career CoachingProfessional development opportunitiesAnnual stipend to support personal interests outside of work This full-service firm in DC has a nationally recognized reputation in many of its practice areas. With additional offices throughout the Midwest and the East Coast, the firm has over 200 lawyers ready to serve their clients. New associates are assigned to one of five sections: Bond/Municipal Finance, Business, Labor, Litigation, or Real Estate. New associates are encouraged to let the firm know what areas interest them, but all attorneys are expected to be willing to work in a wide variety of areas. New associates are also provided with early client contact. While some associates arent ecstatic with the firms bonus structure, this mid-tier firm does pay higher than many similar firms in the area.
